The Samsung Galaxy S5 price is under $700 for U.S. customers according to a Samsung estimate, a T-Mobile Galaxy S5 contest puts the price of the Galaxy S5 lower and in line with the Galaxy S4’s launch price and a Sprint promotion suggests the Galaxy S5 price is in line with a 16GB iPhone.

On stage Samsung announced the Galaxy S5 release date of April 11th in over 150 countries but did not announce the Galaxy S5 price before the event ended.

Thanks to two contests we have a good idea what the Galaxy S5 price will be for consumers when the release date arrives, though it is still subject to change.

The Galaxy S5 price is between $610 and $620 according to a T-Mobile contest for the new phone. T-Mobile is giving away a Samsung Galaxy S5 and a Galaxy S5 flip-view cover with a total value of $668. The Galaxy S5 cover will likely retail for $50 to $60 like the Galaxy S4 version of the case.

T-Mobile currently sells phones without a contract so the Galaxy S5 price on T-Mobile will likely be around $26 a month for 24 months, for a price of $624.

The Sprint Galaxy S5 price off contract is estimated at $649.99, which is in line with the off contract price of the iPhone 5s. The Galaxy S5 price on contract will likely land at $199 for a two-year agreement on Sprint and we should see similar Galaxy S5 pricing on AT&T and T-Mobile. This price could easily drop as resellers like Amazon and Walmart get into the action.

There is no information about the 32GB Galaxy S5 price, but Samsung typically sells the higher capacity models for an extra $50 jump in on-contract pricing.

A Samsung contest that invites users to,  “Get Samsung’d” shows the “Approximate Retail Value” of the Galaxy S5 at $700. This is a moving target that Samsung says will change based on country and carriers. It is possible Samsung is intentionally vague to avoid showing a lower initial price estimate like we saw for the Galaxy S4.

Users can enter the Galaxy S5 contests or a chance to win a free Galaxy S5 and many other items at the following links.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 offers a bigger 5.1-inch display, a new 16MP camera that can record in 4k, a pulse sensor and a fingerprint reader in a plastic design that is water-resistant. The Galaxy S5 release date will vary by carrier, but starts on April 11th.
