New Black Ops 3 Maps: 8 Remakes We Want in DLC 4
What new Black Ops 3 maps will we see in the upcoming Black Ops 3 DLC 4? We don’t know exactly which new Black Ops 3 maps you will play this year, but we know that remakes play a major role in the new Black Ops 3 maps process.
In the first Black Ops 3 DLC, Awakening, we saw a remake of Hijacked join three other new Black Ops 3 maps. In Eclipse, we saw a remake of Bonsai with three additional maps. With Descent Treyarch delivered a Raid remake.
Delivering a remake of an old Black Ops map for Black Ops 3 is not just about slapping an upgraded skin onto the old map.
There are important changes that need to happen to account for the new movement mechanics like wallrunning, thrust jumping and sliding. In the case of Bonsai, the new map is more inspired by the old than anything else.
When Activision announced the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 season pass, they included a small phrase that confirms we will see more remakes of older maps in Black Ops 3 DLC 4.
The Call of Duty: Black Ops III Season Pass delivers 4 epic DLC map packs in 2016 with all-new multiplayer content, including re-imagined fan-favorite maps from Call of Duty®: World at War and the Call of Duty: Black Ops series.
After looking back through the catalog of multiplayer maps from older Treyarch Call of Duty games, we settled on nine new Black Ops 3 maps we want to see Treyarch bring back as part of the upcoming Black Ops 3 DLC 4 release.
We’ve already shared what we know so far about the Black Ops 3 DLC 4 release, including the possibility that it could arrive in September on PS4 and in Octover on Xbox One and PC.
We know that gamers who attend Call of Duty XP in September will be able to play Black Ops 3 DLC 4 maps, on September 2-4. That means the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 DLC 4 release date is after the event.
If Treyarch continues on the current path that means one more remake of older Call of Duty Black Ops maps or even World at War.
Don’t worry, you will still see new Black Ops 3 maps that you haven’t seen in an older game. That’s not up for debate. However if you are hopeful that you will get to pay a new Black Ops 3 map that draws heavily on the inspiration of a classic, you are in luck.
We would even consider paying for a “Classics” Black Ops 3 DLC 5 with remakes from older Call of Duty games. It doesn’t sound like that is an option even though fans are really excited about the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered release.
With the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 multiplayer set in a simulation, we could see these maps set in the original time periods, adapted to a futuristic setting like Skyjacked or into an alternate reality like Verge.
Which of these remakes do you want to see come to Black Ops 3 DLC 4?
