11 Things to Know About the Fallout 4 Automatron DLC
Now that the Automatron Fallout 4 DLC release has come and gone, we want to take a look at the important things Xbox One, PS4 and PC users need to know about deals, potential problems, and what’s next for Fallout 4.
As we push into the new year, Bethesda is busy updating Fallout 4 with bug fixes, enhancements and brand new content. The company recently rolled out a new Fallout 1.5 patch that brings additional fixes and support for the game.
The developer is also releasing paid content for Fallout 4 in the form of DLC expansion packs. Bethesda’s released three expansions including the $25 Far Harbor that takes games to a brand new piece of land off the coast of Maine.
Today we want to take a look at a few of the most important things to know, right now, about Bethesda’s Fallout 4 Automatron DLC.
Automatron was the developer’s first piece of Fallout 4 DLC add-on and it delivers new customizable robot companions and more to the Lone Wanderer and the wasteland.
We continue to see new Automatron DLC details emerge and today we want to outline all of those, and more for those of you looking to expand on your adventures in the Commonwealth. Here’s what you need to know.
Automatron Problems | ||||||||||||
The Automatron beta and 1.5 update wiped out a ton of Automatron problems but gamers are still running into an assortment of issues with the add-on. Over the past few weeks, Bethesda's Automatron forums have been filling up with complaints about various issues ranging from problems with the quests to issues with robot customization to crashes and freezes. We ran into issues with sound, frame rate issues inside Automatron's final dungeon on Xbox One, and robots falling through the ground. To name a few. Bethesda's initial 1.5 patch addressed some of the glaring Automatron issues but problems persist on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. While the developer has released new versions of the 1.5 update, none of them have been focused on fixing Automatron issues. Instead, they've been focused on mods. We expect Bethesda to roll out additional fixes for DLC in the future but for now, take a look at our list of fixes for common Fallout 4 problems for a potential remedy. You'll also want to continue to look for and report Automatron problems so Bethesda's engineers can tackle them in future updates. | ||||||||||||

I’ve seen tweets that say the Creation Kit should drop in April for PC around the same time Wasteland Workshop is released, then they’ll port mods to Xbox around a month after that. PS4 users should get it a month after Xbox. There is no exclusive deal for any platform but PS4 gets it last because Xbox is based on Win10 so it’ll be easier to make the modding system work for Xbox. They generally release new info on the Bethesda twitter account so keep an eye out if you’re a twitter user. :)

They are doing different types. Automatron does have a story attached but its mostly a gameplay pack. Far Harbor sounds like it will be more Story based.

Dude, it said “It will also get you all of the unannounced DLC that Bethesda plans to release later this year.” It’s a season pass, so if they do release DLC in 2017, I’m sure you’ll have to pay for it or a new season pass will be released.

here is the description from steam, “Winner of Best of Show E3 2015, get the Fallout 4 season pass and get all Fallout 4 DLC for one S.P.E.C.I.A.L. price.”

Actually, he is correct a season pass is generally a years worth of DLC. Which is why they call it a season pass because more than likely, the company is going to release during each of the seasons (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall). A perfect example of this would be Telltales TWD (note the release date of each episode) or L.A. Noire (who started the concept of Season Pass). I don’t think Bethesda is going to push beyond 4 DLC’s. But who knows.

The Seasons Pass will get you all the DLC they will ever release for Fallout 4. This is not Evolve, they are not releasing multiple season passes! Also, Noctis! can;t wait for FFXV

The fact that they called your character “lone wanderer” in this article, kind of pissed me off. Your character in Fallout 3 was the lone wanderer your character in Fallout 4 is the sole survivor.
Ty

Technically not… Because, if you play the story line then you know that you aren’t the sole survivor… You’re looking for your son. Which makes you another survivor… And, there are ghouls that were alive since before the war.

Well maybe it means the survivor of that vault. So the ghouls don’t count. Even then though the child is another survivor. So u are right the sole survivor is not sole.(spoilers) Although the father dies in the end anyways so when you pass the game you are the sole survivor.

Fallout 4’s Player character is known as the sole survivor.

Did they have season passes that came with the game when you bought it? My copy has an “all access seasons pass” card inside the case… I email Bethesda about it but got some generic response

As a note, Automatron has a slight bug in the XBOX One version: Taking an Automatron you create for a companion glitches the companion system, causing your previous companion to enter Limbo, while the created Automatron cannot be dismissed. This can be fixed by taking another companion, at which point the normal companion system reasserts itself and the dismissed companion returns to the game.

Glitch in the final quest where if you take a created companion into the mechanist lair they will disappear from the game forever. I found reloading to before the quest sometimes fixes the problem.
