Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Beta: 5 Things to Know
The Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare beta weekend one is complete, but there is still a chance to play this week. The Xbox One Infinite Warfare beta starts early today and all PS4 players can play during this time as well.
Here’s a look at the important details, we expect and what we know about the Infinite Warfare beta. There is no PC Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare beta.
The Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare beta starts comes to Xbox One on the 21st if you have a code and to all PS4 players — no code needed. This is how to download the PS4 Infinite Warfare beta now.
It makes sense that Activision will extend the second Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare beta weekend a day, and will possibly open up the second weekend to anyone with an Xbox One if they add an extra day.
If you run into any issues here is a look at the common Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare beta problems and fixes that include party problems on Xbox One.
While Battlefield 1 is going back to WW1, Call of Duty is headed to the future. There is also a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered game coming with early access on PS4, but no beta.
Activision confirms the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare beta, and there is a a special bonus on pre-order cards that says, “Scratch to Reveal Beta Code.” If you pre-order online or in other stores you can expect an email with special instructions on how to “register for the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Multiplayer Beta.”
There are some things that you need to know about the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare beta.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Beta Release Dates
At COD XP 2016 Activision announced the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare beta release date of October 14th.
The Xbox One Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare beta release date is October 21st and PS4 players can play on this date.
The Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare weekend 2 starts early on Thursday instead of Friday. PS4 owners can carry over progress from last weekend.
There are two Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare beta weekends, and PS4 players get to take part in both of them.
- Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Beta Weekend #1 – October 14 -18
- Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Beta Weekend #2 – October 21 -24

The Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare beta start time is 10 AM Pacific, 1 PM Eastern on Friday of the weekend. PS4 players get to play both weekends, while Xbox One players only get to play the second weekend. The beta is starting a little later than expected.
The Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare release date is November 4th.
PS4 Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Beta Open to All
The Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare beta is on the PS4 before it is available on the Xbox One. In fact the PS4 beta is open to everyone this weekend and you can start downloading it at 11 AM to play on Friday.
Sony locked down the exclusive early access to the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare DLC for next year and this is how it worked for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 beta on consoles.
At E3 2016 we learned that PS4 users get access to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered campaign play 30 days early.
Do I Need to Buy to play the Infinite Warfare Beta?
If you have a PS4 or you know someone who bought the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare game you can ask them for a code. If you don’t fit either of those options you need to buy Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare if you want to play the beta.
A common theme for betas over the last year is to deliver multiple beta codes to each player who pre-ordered. There are six codes with one Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare pre-order.
You only need to pre-order Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare to get the code, so you could place a basic pre-order at Amazon and then if you don’t like the beta cancel that pre-order after the beta is over.
We also expect that the game will open up to anyone with an Xbox One for the last day of the beta.
What’s in the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Beta?
The video above shows what you can expect in the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare beta. This includes;
- New Combat Rig Systems
- 3+ New Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Maps
- 5+ New and Classic Call of Duty Game Modes
- New Mission Teams
The rigs are a wearable customizable weapons system that you can use to match your style of play. Count on learning more about this when the beta starts.
What to Expect from the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Beta
When it comes to the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare beta, there are a few things to expect and a few that you shouldn’t get your hopes up for.
- Expect options to play on PS4 and Xbox One
- Expect a limited version of the game.
- Don’t expect progress to carry over.
- Expect that the Infinite Warfare beta to last a two weekends.
Don’t expect a Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare demo or other early play option. This will likely be the only way you can play the game before the release date.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Release Date
The official Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare release date is November 4th. This is a Friday, but the game actually comes out on Thursday in many places, timed to a midnight Eastern release. You can pre-order Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare at Amazon, GameStop, Best Buy, Target and other retailers for release date pickup in store and still for release date delivery. There is no early Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare release date, like we saw with Battelfield 1 and with many EA games. If you already have early Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered access on PS4 you can play online sporadically as the servers are up for testing.

Stats do not transfer over, they never do. You’re only wasting your time if you don’t enjoy it.

Do you get the chance to install the beta before the actual release of the beta cos my download speed is terrible and would help if I had a few days extra to do so?
