10 Things to Do Before Installing iOS 9.3.5
The iOS 9.3.5 update is now available and it brings an important security patch to the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. If you plan to install it today there are some steps you’ll want to take to prepare your device for the iOS 9.3.5 update.
Apple recently released its iOS 9.3.3 update for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. We thought iOS 9.3.3’s reign would last until the release of the company’s iOS 10 update in the fall.
Three weeks ago, the company rolled out an iOS 9.3.4 upgrade with a security update for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The update delivered a single patch for the exploit used by the iOS 9.3.3 jailbreak tool. We thought this would be it for iOS 9. We thought wrong.
Today, the company replaced iOS 9.3.4 with an iOS 9.3.5 update that delivers another patch for a serious security exploit.
If you’re coming directly from iOS 9.3.4, iOS 9.3.5 is a small update with that one security patch. For instance, it’s a mere 39.8MB if you’re installing it on an iPhone 6s running iOS 9.3.4.
If you’re coming from something older than iOS 9.3.4, iOS 9.3.5 will be bigger because it’ll bring the features and fixes you missed.
iOS 9 updates, even tiny ones like the iOS 9.3.5 update, can cause major headaches. Problems can and will slip through the cracks and that’s why you’ll want to be prepare before you install it on your device.
We’ve put together an extensive game plan for you. These are the steps that we take before every iOS update and they’re the steps we’re taking before we install the iOS 9.3.5 update on our iPhones, iPads and iPods.

Before you install the iOS 9.3.5 upgrade on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, it's important to get familiar with its changes. iOS 9.3.5 comes with three security patches that plug up serious security problems that expose calls, contacts, texts, and emails. We've put together a comprehensive guide that will take you step-by-step through this change and the key differences between iOS 9.3.5 and Apple's previous iOS 9 updates. If you're coming from something older than iOS 9, now would be a very good time to brush up on all of these changes so there aren't any surprises when your download finishes up. | |||||||||||

if your device is an iPhone 5s or older, they are pulling the updates from you, because of the ‘activation/password’ problem.

Still on 9.2.1, iPad mini with retina (2.5 yr old). Links in mail do not work, safari links do not work, Notes links do not work, even chrome malfunctions. Thought to upgradeto 9.3 but get same s—t of ‘no internet connection’. Seriously considering ditching apple.

I have an iPad 2 – I wonder if it’s specific to that. I have googled this problem but can’t find many other complaints so even though it’s happening it us it doesn’t seem to be widespread. I literally recharged for the year ($180) the day before updating.

I can’t stand the site, it gets worse and worse with every day that passes. I will make it a point to exclude gottabemobile from my search results. So many ads, so much useless information spread across 10 pages. Sum it up into 1 paragraph, be done, save the space for more useful and helpful stuff.

I called AT&T and they did something on the backend that required me to reboot. Then I spoke to Apple. But I only set up an appointment to work on it with them. The next morning, the phone was working. I don’t know why. Sorry!

I think your 4s will only go to a version of 7. At least my mom’s phone did.
David
04/16/2016 at 1:10 pm
Thats not true. The iphone 4 is limited to 7, the iphone 4s should be good to go for 9.3.1. I’m running 9.0 right now on a 4s, works great. Wife uses a 4, no more updates available for her.
They say on a few sites I checked that 4s should take 9.3.1 … no promises, havnt done it yet, researching now.

Does this newest update work on iPad 2? As of now all of my apps crash. I didn’t upgrade to 9.3. So I am thinking of upgrading to 9.3.1. Will this fix the crashing issues with my iPad 2?

I upgraded my iPad2 to IOS9.3.1 and got the “No Service” message. I took it into the Apple Store and the guy there Reset the network settings (Settings/General/Reset) and it restored the service after some time. Later the iPad started running slow so I powered it down and restarted it and got the “No Service” message again. This time, the Reset has not worked.

Further note – I tried powering down and on again – no change but then turned Airplane Mode on and then off. It went searching and reconnected the Service.

Thanks Poiter. I had actually tried that reset before but it didn’t work but this time I did. I haven’t restarted yet so don’t know if I’ll get the No Service like you did if I do (not game to try!!) I just hope it stays OK.

How about Apple allow users to “downgrade” to whichever iOS they prefer? I since have sold my iPad 2 after “upgrading” to a newer iOS. I was totally happy and content, with what I think was iOS 6 or 7. (It was the old look iOS.)
Anyways, with the older generation tablets and phones, why not allow for users to choose what version of iOS they prefer to run on their device?

I was happy to update to IOS 9.3.1 till I used data of more than 1 gig in less than 24 hours on whatsapp only. I had to change from 3G to 2G. On 2G information takes a while to load.I think the software makes the phone to be tooooo fast and eats a lot of data. I think when updating anything cost effect should be taken into consideration.

My iPad 2 is after upgrade to 9.3.1 almost not possible to use! Very annoying. All apps like LinkedIn, Netflix, etc. but also any web site I visit including Outlook for emails will give an error message and after automatic loading the page again it will close Safari by itself. So basically I can not use iPad anymore! I need 9.3.2 asap!

I habe Iphone 6. I want to download ios 9.3.3, but I can’t, bacause when I want to update it, it says that I’m no longer conected to the internet, but the thing is that I am on my wifi. Then I though that I shoul try with the mobile data, not wifi, and it doesn’t work either, ther was popping the same table as sooner. I really need to update my ios, because my phone is glitching, but I can’t because of the table. Can someone help me? Thank you
