10 Best Galaxy Note 7 Screen Protectors

Published

on

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 has a big 5.7-inch Quad-HD display with curves on both sides of the screen, but that doesn’t mean screen protectors won’t work. Now that the recall is moving forward and safe phones are available, owners are looking for some of the best Galaxy Note 7 screen protectors. Below we’ve gathered a few great options for your consideration.

On September 2nd Samsung recalled the new and improved Galaxy Note 7. Select units had a faulty battery that could overheat and catch fire, or even explode. As a result every phone sold has been replaced with safe new models. It’s back on shelves and still one of the best phones available. Those who have it may want a screen protector though.

One question we keep seeing is about the curved display, and whether or not users will still be able to use a screen protector. More importantly, if the durable glass screen protectors will even work. To answer your question, yes, yes you can use a screen protector on the Note 7 and there are multiple great options we’ll share below.

The link above details some excellent official accessories being made and sold by Samsung, and buyers can find a collection of the best Galaxy Note 7 cases right here. Once you get the phone or a replacement and some accessories, you’ll want to keep that big curved screen safe.

Before we begin it’s worth mentioning that the Galaxy Note 7 is one of the most durable smartphones on the market. Its screen may be curved but that doesn’t make it any less durable. Samsung is using the latest chemically strengthened and scratch resistant Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and the back.

Recent reports suggest it can scratch easier than prior models as a result of the new glass. Whether this is correct or not remains to be seen, and we’d recommend a Note 7 screen protector either way. Many users are struggling to install glass screen protectors because of this curve. If so, get a film like InvisibleShield instead.

First up is Samsung's official Galaxy Note 7 screen protector. They haven't offered one for past Note devices, so this is a first. Right on the Samsung Accessories website they have one for buyers. It's your typical film, and will work great with the curved screen.

Samsung claims this will protect the glass and keep it safe from damage, improves image quality in sunlight and reduces glare. Typically Samsung's official accessories are all great quality. Again, the Note 7 recall is nearly over and safe new models are readily available. Get this great phone and forget about all the crazy stores, many of which were false reports regarding the phone battery exploding.

ZenTech also has really good Note7 glass screen protectors, and they are only $9.95 .

Has anyone gotten a tempered glass screen for note 7 that has adhesive on entire screen not just the corners? Had issues with screen responsiveness and using a case on my gs7 edge. Hopefully this time will be different.

Gorilla glass 5 is softer than 4, which makes it more shatter resistant, but unfortunately less scratch resistant. I suspect that’s why samsung is offering a screen shield for the first time. You’ll want something on your note 7 for sure.

For the gorilla glass 4 some thin protector is more than enough. Glass screen might not fit the edge and disturbs the overall QHD experience So I would suggest something like film protector. I found this works better and covers the whole body and even the sides of the Note 7.

What about using this with a case? I’ve never used a glass protector and just purchased a Galaxy Note 7 Case, Spigen® [Neo Hybrid] PREMIUM BUMPER [Blue Coral] case- I don’t like the “rubber” feeling protectors. My current phone has a Tech Armor matte one and I love it. I don’t see Tech Armor note 7 protectors tho yet.

not for me. doesnt allow quick key recognition. the middle of the screen seems to be off the actual phone. i would pass on the SPARIN. in reply to Jeff.. i would say no. wasted cash on this.

I just bought the DeroTech Tempered screen protector for $20, one of the few that are actually shipping now on popular sites. I have not had a curved display before, and always insist on the best glass protectors for my phones (i’m a fan of Spigen myself). I immediately realized 2 things……

due to the curvature of the phone’s glass display, there is no “hard” screen protector that can adhere correctly without in some form desensitizing the touchscreen (you may have to hit keys twice). While there are apps to “boost” your sensitivity you can get for free, you are going to get the bubble effect described above.

If you are like me, and have to have something on there (my last save me major $$@ tradein), I would utilize the skin forms rather than the glass….
    BC…
    A. The new gorilla glass is more shatterproof but less scratch resistant, skins will handle this problem.

    B. I would make sure the edges of my case give me a sixteenth of an inch for impact purposes (think if you dropped your phone straight on its face…give room so the screen wouldn’t hit the ground)

    C. Take out mobile insurance (i pay $6 for a $200 complete replacement option).

    cheers.

I also wasted cash on this protector. It doesn’t adhere to the glass properly (affecting touch sensitivity) and it’s impossible to use with a case as it pushes it further from the glass. It currently has a 1.5 star average rating at Amazon.

I’ve tried 8 different cases for my note 7, and none of them have been successful. i tried the tempered glass ones and the liquid application ones. 2 of the glass ones actually cracked when i put the case on… a little odd since the box said it is explosion proof. The wet installs were ok but the edges didn’t stay down.. especially when the case went on. All that being said, i have ordered the official screen protector manufactured by Samsung and hopefully i’ll have a winner.

Yup the Note 7, well my replacement one did, comes with Tempered Glass. Fits the N7 well, but my screen has become less responsive, perhaps due to the glass thickness. I use a Spigen clear cover for the N7, doesn’t fit that well with the glass protector too…

The Zagg for the note 7 isn’t cut right to fit the screen properly and does NOT work with any case that I have seen so far. It also doesn’t keep from scratching the surface of the phone if dropped as I found out the other night when my daughter knocked mine out of my hand….

Offical samsung screen protector does not stick well over the edges. Very soft and it marks when you use the stylus
