iOS 10 Jailbreak Status: 5 Things to Know in December
“When is the iOS 10 jailbreak release date?” is the most common jailbreak question we’ve heard. This is what you need to know about the iOS 10 jailbreak status and what to watch out for while you wait for the iOS 10 jailbreak tool from Pangu or other sources.
Apple is about to release iOS 10.2 for the iPhone and iPad, and a new warning says that users who want an iOS 10 jailbreak should avoid this new update at all costs.
Although iOS 10.2 is new to most users, it is not new to developers and to users who look through the code in hopes of discovering how to jailbreak iOS 10. For the past several months users have been trying various means, and there is more evidence that jailbreak teams are making progress.
Apple released the iOS 10.1 update on Monday October 24th, and we expect an iOS 10.2 release date as soon as next week.
Below you’ll see an early example of the iOS 10 jailbreak on the iPhone 7, but this is not a public iOS 10 jailbreak release.
Here’s an up to date look at the jailbreak status and how it will impact your upgrade strategy or buying the iPhone 7.
When is the iOS 10 Jailbreak Release Date
There is no confirmed iOS 10 jailbreak release date, nor an iOS 10.2 jailbreak release date. Normally a jailbreak on a completely new iOS version takes weeks or months, which is where we are at with iOS 10.
Although there is no specific iOS 10 jailbreak release date we continue to see publications claim specific dates and milestones, but the best resources are direct from jailbreak teams — who aren’t sharing much.
iOS 10 Jailbreak Status
There is some iOS 10 jailbreak progress already. Luca Todesco, who shared many inside looks into the iOS 9 jailbreak process earlier this year shares the video above whew we see him open Cydia on an iOS 10 device.
cydia wants to remove itself on iOS 10 for some reason

This appears similar to the iOS 9.3.3 jailbreak release that many users installed earlier this year. There is no information about an iOS 10 jailbreak release date or a jailbreak tool. Typically Todesco shares some of his insights but is not directly releasing tools to the public.
In July Pangu made known that they are working on an iOS 10 jailbreak according to a report on iDownloadBlog. They did not make any specific announcements or provide a timeline for a release.
note that 10.2 kills many bugs, staying on 10.1.1 is a wise choice

In December Tudesco warns that users should wait to upgrade to iOS 10.2 if they want a jailbreak. Typically Apple allows a short downgrade period, but if you know you want to jailbreak you should follow this advice until further notice.
iOS 10 Jailbreak vs iPhone 7 Jailbreak
In many instances the new iOS jailbreak works on the new iPhone. If we are lucky the iPhone 7 jailbreak will be interchangeable with the iOS 10 jailbreak when one arrives.
Watch out for users on Twitter and forums trolling users by saying that there is no chance for an iPhone 7 jailbreak.
Watch Out for Fake iOS 10 Jailbreak Scams
There are already a lot of fake iOS 10 jailbreak tools and fake iOS 10 jailbreak scams. Right now there is absolutely no working iOS 10 jailbreak tool for the public. Sites that claim to offer an iOS 10 jailbreak tool are simply trying to take your information or your money. Most often these websites will ask you to complete an offer or sign up for a service that makes them money and leaves you with a useless file or attempts to install malware on your computer with a fake iOS 10 jailbreak tool.
Make Sure You Don’t Accidentally Upgrade to iOS 10
If you upgrade to iOS 10 you cannot downgrade to a version of iOS 9 that you can jailbreak anymore.
You should download NO PLS RECOVERY from Cydia which will prevent iTunes from updating when you are in the jailbroken mode.
Pangu already blocks the iOS 10 upgrade on your jailbroken iPhone, so you just need to be careful when you plug in to iTunes.
