The fixes for the most common Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare problems vary slightly from console to console and to PC, but for the most part you will be able to fix with similar steps. Here’s how to get back to playing.
How to Fix Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Connection & Server Problems
If you experience Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare lag and connection problems in games and in parties you can take some steps locally to fix these issues. Keep in mind that there could be Infinite Warfare lag problems on the server end or on connections between you and the game. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare lag is different than the framerate problems some users reported on Xbox One that should now be fixed.
The first thing to try to fix Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare lag is to find a new lobby. Sometimes that’s all you need to do.
If lag follows you, it is a good idea to check your Internet connection. Run a Speedtest on your console or PC using the network stats in settings on Xbox One or PS4. If the connection is super-slow, try unplugging your router and modem and then connecting again.
It’s also a great idea to connect with a network cable if possible. You may need to buy a better router. We can play wirelessly with the Netgear Nighthawk X4S, while other routers didn’t deliver the speeds we needed wirelessly.
Although for the older Call of Duty game, check these steps as well to isolate bad connections.

How to fix Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare DLC Problems
We are seeing a number of Sabotage DLC problems. Activision is investigating specific issues like cp_rave and assetfile202 errors, but if you have other DLC problems you can try the steps below.
- If you purchased the DLC in-game, you may need to completely exit the game to complete the download.
- Clear the cache on your console.
- If the DLC doesn’t download successfully or is unplayable, try downloading the DLC again.
- Be sure that your PlayStation account allows you to download content.
- You might need to Restore your PS4 license. To do this:
- From the PlayStation 4 dashboard, go to Settings.
- Select PlayStation Network/Account Management.
- Select Restore Licenses.
- Select Restore.
Activision notes that you can only restore your license to the primary PS4.
How to Fix Infinite Warfare Installation Problems
If you cannot install Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, you need to make sure you have enough room on your console. Before you walk away you should double check that the game doesn’t need extra room on your main hard drive. More and more games need space on your internal hard drive as well as an external one.
You should make sure that your console is on the latest software and wait for the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare installation to complete before you play.
How to Fix Slow Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Downloads
If you run into a slow Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare download while trying to complete your game download or to install the first Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare update you can pause the download and then restart it. Sometimes this will allow users to restart at a faster download.
You can also use a wired connection and make sure someone else isn’t using all the network resources at home.
How to Fix Infinite Warfare Rubber Banding, Stuttering & Hit Markers
Activision shares several steps to avoid rubber banding, stuttering and hit markers in Infinite Warfare.
- Rubber banding – Your character is running toward a destination and then jumps back to where it was a few seconds prior.
- Stuttering – An effect that makes your character appear to freeze and skip ahead while moving.
- Hit marker delays – When it appears you have landed several shots on an enemy, yet the enemy is able to kill you with fewer shots fired back.
Activision recommends, playing on a wired connection, turning on Quality o Service on your router to set priority to the online service you are playing on. The company also warns that playing while someone streams video can be an issue and streaming your own gameplay can result in these issues.
If you experience this on the Windows 10 Store version of the game you will need to wait for an update.
How to Fix Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Crashes & Freezes
If you are playing Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and the game freezes or crashes you will likely get dumped to the dashboard.
On the PS4 you may see the following messages;
- Error code CE-34878-0.
- An error has occurred with an application or system software.
When Infinite Warfare freezes you need to “Quit the game and close the application, and then restart the game. In some instances, you might also need to reboot your console .”
If a crash happens in multiplayer or zombies, restart the game and you should be able to continue. If it happens in campaign, you need to restart the game and choose your last save.
To fix Infinite Warfare crashes and freezes you can make sure your console is up to date. You can also check your game disk, make sure your console isn’t overheated, delete old game data and check the game on another PS4 to rule out a problem with your disk.
Here is more advanced troubleshooting of Infinite Warfare freezes and crashes.
How to Fix Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Code Problems
Activision announced that users may have issues using Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare codes.
If you get an error saying, “The code you entered may not be correct or may no longer be valid.” You likely just need to wait.
This is happening with codes for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered and for Infinite Warfare bonus content.
Activision states, “Codes to redeem Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered on PlayStation 4, as well as bonus content for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, have not been activated and cannot be redeemed until official, worldwide launch date for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is Friday, November 4th.”
If you see this after the official release Activision recommends contacting, “PlayStation Support, Xbox Support, or Steam Support for assistance.”
How to Fix Infinite Warfare PC Problems
There are already a number of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare PC problems that include very major issues. Activision outlines four problems as of November 3rd;
- The game seems to be stuttering or rubber banding on level transitions
- Performance issues in the 40-50 fps range and some stuttering.
- Mouse becomes unresponsive after booting the game.
- Accepting an invite or joining a Multiplayer or Zombies session while in Campaign gameplay can cause the game to freeze.
There is a fix for all of these issues that will arrive next week, but you can fix two of these issues on your own.
If your mouse doesn’t work in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare you can Alt+Tab out of the game and back into it to regain use.
If your game freezes when you accept an invite you join inside of Multiplayer, Zombies or a campaign you need to get invited again — but you need to accept from the lobby.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Stats Problems
You need to be cautious about playing in private matches with people you don’t know. Playing in a private match that boosts your stats could, “lead to your stats being damaged beyond restoration, and may also be grounds for a ban.”
Activision warns against playing in private matches with people you don’t know and shares tips to avoid rank reset rank and stats in Infinite Warfare. According to Activision you should;
- Always play Public Matches over a wired connection.
- Avoid playing on a shared connection.
- Always complete Public Matches.
- Only play Private Matches with players you know and trust.
You need to be proactive about this, as fixing stat issues is tough and if you end up banned it may not be possible to fix the problems.

Activision did not confirm if these will be available after the release date is past, but normally they are available for a short time after the release since many are packaged inside the game.

This game is shit! Call of Duty modern warfare series is best. Play Ghost Recon: Wildlands, a massive open world game.

I have completely given up on the franchise all together all of the billions of dollars they’re making of selling the game and they refuse to make improvements every game is basically the same using the same Maps the same glitches I picked up Advanced Warfare for ps4 after the 12 GB update you start the game go to the campaign and then have to wait for the campaign to install stupid
