We expect the iPhone 5 iOS 9 release date to land on September 16th. Here's how we landed on that date in particular. 

Historically, major iOS release dates come two days before the arrival of the new iPhone. The iPhone 6s release date is heavily rumored for September 18th (a date that makes sense we might add) and thus, September 16th is the heavy favorite for an iOS 9 release date.

Apple releases its iOS updates all at once which means that the iPhone 5 won't have to wait for its update to arrive. It will get its upgrade alongside the iPhone 6, iPhone 4s, and others.
