Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur rode the original three Pokémon games to classic fame. They were the starter creatures. At the beginning of the original games, every Trainer was gifted a creature by Professor Oak. Starter Pokémon act as your team’s base, leading your other creatures in terms of level and abilities. That is, until you’re able to capture more creatures.
Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon pack an all-new trio of starter creatures. They are Rowlet, Litten and Popplio. Rowlett is a Grass and Flying type creature with Overgrow listed as his ability. Litten is a Fire Cat creature, with Blaze being his ability in these two new games. The Sea Lion Pokémon Popplio has Torrent listed as his ability. If early games are any indication, expect your rival to choose a starter Pokémon that exposes your starter’s weakness. |
