5 Reasons Not to Install Galaxy S8 Oreo Beta & 11 Reasons You Should
The Samsung Galaxy S8 Android 8.0 Oreo beta is a tempting download, but most Galaxy S8 users are better off staying on Android 7.0 Nougat.
Signups for the Samsung Galaxy S8 Oreo update beta are still live (though not for long) and Galaxy S8 owners in select regions can join the testing process ahead of the update’s official release.
Samsung will close up Galaxy S8 beta registrations on January 5th before the beta concludes on January 17th. The official release should take place shortly after that. Samsung itself says it hopes to push the update out in January.
Update 2/08: The official version of the Samsung Galaxy S8 Oreo update is rolling out.
As expected, there are some limitations. The Galaxy S8 Oreo beta is currently limited to a select regions including the United States (Sprint and T-Mobile), United Kingdom, and South Korea. The beta’s also available in several other countries including France, Germany, India, and Poland.
Samsung’s also limited the Oreo beta to the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ which means Galaxy S8 Active users are on the sidelines until the official release.
There are plenty of reasons to try the Galaxy S8 Android Oreo beta if it’s available for your device in your home country.
Samsung’s version of Android 8.0 Oreo comes with some exciting features including home screen enhancements, improvements to the keyboard, and various other upgrades. The beta is a great way to get familiar with these features and to test performance ahead of time. Early software isn’t for everyone though.
Samsung’s corrected a ton of bugs, but this is still a beta and pre-release software is extremely buggy. If you depend on your Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ to get through the day, you probably want to stay put on Android 7.0 Nougat.
If you’re on the fence about the Galaxy S8 Oreo beta, allow us to take you through the best reasons to install it and the best reasons to pass.

support team Hi. I’m Adina from Iran. I have a Samsung mobile phone that has a Galaxy S6 model. When I bought Android, I was upgrading to the 5 lollipop, which was gradually upgraded to 6 and 7. I plan to update 7.1.1 or Android O, but I’m sorry to say that Samsung’s representative in Iran does not provide good support. I also contacted your representative in the United States, but they tell me that our information is limited to American phones. I wanted to know if you might be using ota on Android 7.1.1 Or send me the Android 8? I’d love to have this version of Android on my phone. Give me some guidance. Thank you samsung galaxy s6
