You can expect the 2021 iPad to bring performance upgrades. That said, if you think you'll want a whole lot of horsepower, you're better off going with another tablet. The current 10.2-inch iPad features an old A10 Fusion chip, an LED-backlit Multi-Touch display with IPS technology, and Touch ID instead of Face ID. These features are enough for a lot of people, but the budget iPad line isn't a workhorse like Apple's iPad Pro lineup.
