There's a reason this is called a beta. Samsung's version of Android 9.0 is unfinished and unfinished software can cause major problems.

Beta testers are reporting issues with the beta including problems with apps, abnormal battery drain, Bluetooth issues, Wi-Fi issues, installation problems, and other bugs. 

Samsung's rolling out bug fix updates to correct some of these issues, but problems will linger throughout the beta. 

If you depend on your Galaxy S9 to get you through the day and don't have time to deal with major problems, avoid the Galaxy S9 Pie beta for now.
