macOS Monterey 12.3 brought spatial audio support to AirPods owners with M1-powered Macs.
Apple says dynamic head tracking is available in Music with supported AirPods on Mac computers with the M1 chip. There are also customizable spatial audio settings for Off, Fixed, and Head Tracked in Control Center. In addition to running macOS Monterey 12.3 or newer on your Mac, you'll need a pair of third-generation AirPods, AirPods Pro, or AirPods Max to enjoy these features. If you're unfamiliar with spatial audio, its dynamic head tracking brings theater-like sound from the movie or video you're watching so the sound seems like it's coming from all around you.

Preview Version 11.0 (1033.4) freezes more than half the time I use it.
‘Report Issue to Apple’ gives me the spinning coloured wheel for about 30-45 s before it recovers.
I had to force quit the Finder just today. I was unable to re-launch the Finder. I had to manually power down, and then it took about 4-5 tries to get the MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2021) (Apple M1 Pro chip) to start again.
