If you're preparing for a trip or if you're currently on one, and you're unable to spend time on the computer or phone with Apple if something goes wrong after the update, you should wait to install the software.
There's a good chance macOS Sonoma 14.5 works fine on your Mac, but it takes a while to install the update and there's always a chance something goes wrong. You may not want to deal with 1) waiting awhile for the update to install, 2) finding help online, on the phone, or at a store, and/or 3) dealing with apps or services that aren't working. If any of these things concern you, you might want to hold off until we know more about macOS Sonoma 14.5's performance.
Dealing with Mac/MacBook problems is probably the last thing you want to be dealing with on a business trip or a trip with your family. |

I have a 2019 27″ iMAC with an i5 processor- not cutting edge but hey. Sonoma 14.4 gives me new problems: 1). If I put a windows App on full screen the top of the pages dissapears behind the Apple conterol bar such that I can no longer access the windows tabs. 2). Also If I (Command Shift 4) to copy a screen image to e.g. paste into eMail then the dreaded spinning spectrum of hung system comes up every time. Not impressed with the new Op-system so far!
