macOS Sonoma 14.4 brought a toggle for showing only icons for websites in the Safari Favorites Bar. If that sounds useful, and you missed macOS Sonoma 14.4.1 and macOS Sonoma 14.4, download the upgrade.
macOS Sonoma itself comes with some very useful improvements for the Safari browser. Perhaps the biggest change is the addition of support for profiles in Safari which lets you keep your browsing separate for things like work and your personal life. These Profiles will separate your history, extensions, Tab Groups, cookies, and favorites and you can seamlessly switch between profiles as you browse.
Apple also says Search in Safari is even more responsive in macOS Sonoma and shows easier-to-read and more relevant suggestions. If you're a heavy Safari user, and you're still on macOS Ventura, consider downloading macOS Sonoma.

I have a 2019 27″ iMAC with an i5 processor- not cutting edge but hey. Sonoma 14.4 gives me new problems: 1). If I put a windows App on full screen the top of the pages dissapears behind the Apple conterol bar such that I can no longer access the windows tabs. 2). Also If I (Command Shift 4) to copy a screen image to e.g. paste into eMail then the dreaded spinning spectrum of hung system comes up every time. Not impressed with the new Op-system so far!
