Modern Warfare 3 will go through a beta which will help Sledgehammer and Infinity Ward catch major issues ahead of the game's release in November. The developers won't catch every bug and balance issue, however. 

The next Call of Duty has new elements in the single-player campaign and the multiplayer will have a ton of moving parts. This won't be a perfect game on day one and it will take time for the devs to patch bugs, performance issues, and tweak the game's balance. 

If you hate dealing with Call of Duty's initial problems, you might be better off waiting for the developers to release patches for bugs and performance issues.

We should see a steady stream of patches arrive post-launch so if you aren't in a rush to play, think about waiting for additional polish.
