6 Reasons to Wait for the iPhone 14 & 6 Reasons Not To

Wait for Satellite Connectivity

We've heard this rumor before, but it looks like it could become a reality this year.

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple is planning to install satellite capabilities on iPhone "as early as this year."

If this pans out, it would let users send text messages over satellite networks to emergency personnel. This would be huge for people who like to venture out into areas with bad or non-existence cellular service.

Consultant Tim Ferrar believes Apple will likely announce this feature, in partnership with Globestar, at the iPhone 14 launch event. 

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says Apple has "completed hardware tests for this feature" but says everything "depends on whether Apple and operators can settle the business model."

Now keep in mind, we also heard this was being planned for the iPhone 13 series, but that rumored failed to pan out. So while it's exciting, there's no guarantee it happens in 2022.

That being said, it may be a rumor worth waiting for.
