7 Things to Know About the iPhone 7 iOS 12.4.1 Update
iPhone 7 iOS 12.4.1 Update: What's New
If you're moving up from iOS 12.4, your iOS 12.4.1 update contains a single security patch. You can read about it in our guide to the new firmware. If you're moving up from iOS 12.3.1, your iOS 12.4.1 update brings iOS 12.4's changes which include Apple News upgrades, security patches, and a new way to migrate the data on your iPhone. You can read about all of those changes in our guide to iOS 12.4. If you're moving up from iOS 12.3, you get three bug fixes from iOS 12.3.1 with your version of iOS 12.4.1. You can read about those right here in our guide. If you're moving up from iOS 12.2, your iOS 12.4.1 update brings iOS 12.3's bug fixes and upgrades which include changes to the Apple TV app and AirPlay 2. For more information about these upgrades, please take a look at our guide to the iOS 12.3 update. It'll take you through them. If you're currently running iOS 12.1.4, your iOS 12.4.1 update comes with a long list of changes thanks to iOS 12.2. If you skipped iOS 12.2, its features are baked into your version of iOS 12.4.1. iOS 12.2 carried 40+ security patches, numerous bug fixes, and improvements to Apple News, AirPlay, Apple Music, Screen Time, and Safari. It also delivered support for AirPods 2. If you're interested in learning more about the changes on board iOS 12.2, take a look at our walkthrough. If you're moving your iPhone 7 or 7 Plus from iOS 12.1.3 to iOS 12.4.1 you get four additional security patches. The iOS 12.1.4 update patched up an eavesdropping FaceTime bug that allowed you to hear sound coming from another person's phone before that person picked up. The company permanently disabled Group FaceTime on iOS 12.1, iOS 12.1.1, iOS 12.1.2, and iOS 12.1.3 which means the only way to use the feature going forward is via an upgrade to iOS 12.1.4/iOS 12.2/iOS 12.3/iOS 12.3.1/iOS 12.4/iOS 12.4.1. If you are moving your iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus up from iOS 12.1.2, you get a few more bug fixes in your iOS 12.4.1 update. iOS 12.1.3's fixes are baked into your upgrade. iOS 12.1.3's fixes included a remedy for an issue in Messages that could impact scrolling through photos in the Details view and a fix for an issue where photos could have striped artifacts after being sent from the Share Sheet. If you're coming from something older than iOS 12.1.1, you'll get a longer list of changes. Apple's iOS 12.1.1 update focused on fixing bugs and patching up potential security issues. It also delivered some new features. If you're curious about the changes on board iOS 12.1.1, take a look at our walkthrough. It'll walk you through the key changes on board. If you're moving your phone from iOS 12.0.1 to iOS 12.4.1, you'll get iOS 12.1's features with your update. The iOS 12.1 update included a bunch of changes including 70+ new emoji characters for your keyboard, Group FaceTime calls, and a variety of bug fixes and improvements. For more on iOS 12.1's features and fixes, take a peek at our guide. It'll walk you through all of the important details. If you skipped iOS 12.0.1, you'll get its contents with your iOS 12.4.1 update. Apple's iOS 12.0.1 update delivered two patches for potential lock screen exploits and two bug fixes for annoying iOS 12 problems:
If you're moving your iPhone 7 from iOS 11 to iOS 12.4.1, your upgrade is much bigger. This is because iOS 12.0's features (and the features from any other updates you skipped) are on board your update. Older iPhones like the iPhone 5s got a toned down version of iOS 12. Not the iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus. Apple's two former flagships get a robust version of iOS 12 that's packed to the brim with changes. There are a ton of changes, big and small, but highlights include Screen Time, improvements to Do Not Disturb, Siri Suggestions for Shortcuts, upgrades to Apple Music and Apple News, ARKit 2.0, and improvements to Photos. If you aren't unfamiliar with these changes, you'll want to take a look at our iOS 12 vs. iOS 11 walkthrough. It will hold your hand through the key changes on board the upgrade. If you skipped an iOS 11 update for your device, the changes from the updates you skipped are baked into your version of iOS 12. If you aren't caught up on iOS 11.4.1 and the older versions of iOS 11, be sure you take a look at our guide to the iOS 11 update.

Yes, me too! The solution:
• mute your iphone
• put mode “do not disturb”
• turn off “blue tooth”
Restart
Done.

Updating to IOS 12.1.3 messed up the app store. I can’t update any app without it asking me to confirm payment. Doesn’t matter what option I pick for payment, it doesn’t work. I can’t download any new apps either. It’s very frustrating.

I am new to iPhone 7 Plus upgraded from phone 6. (Both run ios12.1.3)
Huge difference experience on 7+ is that after using for sometime (5 ~ 30 minutes or maybe more within a session) keyboard starts to lags, and don’t responds to my touches. It makes typing seriously frustrated. Jaggy scrolling. Like the phone is busying other background tasks.
To overcome this, I need to press power button to lock the phone, then unlock it and it behaves normal again to continue what I was doing.
As for iPhone 6 I didn’t encounter this problem at all before.

Will iOS 12.2 fix the issues I have with my microphone? iOS 12.1.4 caused my microphone not to work. Now I am unable to make calls, use Siri, record videos with audio etc. I have a iPhone 7

Since installing this update, my VM is not working. Right now, it says my vm is full and I have no VM, no recent calls, nothing in the deleted vm. Of course, all says to contact my carrier but my sister is having same problem and her iPhone is newer and her carrier is different. What the heck!!!

When I turn my phone on silent mode it does not vibrate. Ever since the new update my phone stopped vibrating altogether!
While looking things up in Google or Safari I get no images… even those unwanted adds. NO images! So, if I look up directions and don’t understand them, I’m screwed… there is no images of the directions I SHOULD be able to see for an example!!

This update killed my phone and I now cannot restore it. I’m stuck staring at a screen that says plug into iTunes and go to support.apple.com. :( Very unhelpful. Guy at the phone store just wants to sell me a new one instead of helping me.

I think iOS 12 updates are also not yet gives use best interface. So You can’t Jailbreak your iDevices due to this new interface. So many of us can’t able to Download paid apps and games for free. Some you don’t need to Jailbreak your iDevices to get premium apps and games when you have third-party App Stores like Appvalley, FlekStore, and HipStore. You can get those third-party app stores from OM Geeky Blog. Thank you so much. You should also see more on https://omgeeky.com

I can now not open snaps and messages. The notifications are there, but when I go on the app there’s nothing. I’ve tried to turn the phone off, log out, nothing works. This annoys me.

My iphone 7 stopped ringing on phome calls and messages after upgrading to 12.3.1. It just vibrates. I’m losing important phone calls and messages. I checked ring volume and it’s ok. I’m even thinking of buying an Android phone if that issue is not fixed soon.

The iOS 12.4 was installed on my iPhone 7 Plus. So far there’s zero issues and it’s smooth sailing. There does seem to be less battery drain. I have never applied any jailbreaks.

Battery performance has dropped and sometimes the phone crashes due to abnormal battery performance.

Just upgraded from iPhone 5c to iPhone 7 and now having a multitude of issues especially after this update. Bluetooth, battery time, sometimes no rings or vibrations. Bluetooth doesn’t list discoverable devices.
Seems like a very unstable platform. Any ideas if they will fix these issues with patches or something???? Very frustrated. Thank you.
