Speaking of the camera, Google finely tuned and optimized it for augmented reality. We know AR is a big deal in 2017 and will be a huge part of 2018. Apple is pushing AR with the new iPhone X, and between ARCore and ARKit we can all expect some neat apps in the future.
Google is diving head-first into Augmented Reality with the Pixel 2. Pixel 2 owners will love all the AR on this phone. There's a new AR Map app where you can watch League of Legends battles right on your living room floor or kitchen table. lay with virtual Legos thanks to AR Core from Google. And the company is even working with and against Snapchat with some neat new stickers. Fire up the camera and add Star Wars characters, Stranger Things 2 (the show) aliens in your living room, or put a giant cup of coffee with arms and a face next to you in a photo. These "AT stickers" work similar to Snapchat, and are shown in the real world through the eyes of the Pixel 2 camera. Additionally, Saturday Night Live, the NBA, and many others are working on AR Stickers. Imagine putting your favorite NBA star in your living room, or taking a selfie with him. That's all possible with the Pixel 2.
