Another awesome way to pass time on a long plane ride is to download an ebook to your iPhone, iPad or Android that you can then read offline. Make sure you pick a book or two before you take off. You can download these on your phone's connection, so you can do this right before you turn Airplane mode on. Kindle is the most well known service, and it's one that I use, but you can also use your local library to get books for free to read offline.
