Originally, platformer Yooka-Laylee was to come to the Nintendo Wii U. Thanks to technical issues, that never happened. Instead, the game will come to the Nintendo Switch sometime this year. Playtonic Games has not provided a final release date.
Yooka-Laylee is the spiritual successor to the Banjo-Kazooie franchise, which makes sense. Lots of the development team worked at Microsoft’s Rare studio back when it was turning out much-loved games for the Nintendo 64. Like the best games from that era, Yooka-Laylee is a platforming title. You must overcome physical barriers and enemies to make it to the end of the game's stages like you would in Mario. |
