Recall, Price & Final Thoughts

Recall, Price & Final Thoughts

In closing, these are two fantastic smartphones with all the latest bells and whistles. If we're getting technical, the Galaxy Note 7 is better because of the bigger screen, S-Pen, and Iris Eye scanner, but those are all things that aren't extremely important to everyone. If you don't need all of that, the Galaxy S7 Edge experience is almost exactly the same, for slightly less money, and with potentially better battery life. It also won't explode, so that's a thing. That's how it all plays out.

The Galaxy S7 Edge is readily available throughout the globe and from all carriers as we speak, and the Galaxy Note 7 release has been haulted until further notice. We're hearing it could be re-released in early October, then we'd recommend it as basically the best phone around, but this recall could leave a sour taste in potential buyers mouths.

The other thing to consider is the price. The Galaxy Note 7 is expensive, and costs $850 outright, or $880 from AT&T. That is a lot of money.

The Galaxy S7 Edge can be found for under $800 from all carriers, and even cheaper thanks to some great deals or eBay sellers. We've seen it for under $549. If you have to go through a carrier, which most probably do, the Galaxy S7 Edge will be $50-100 cheaper.

On payment plans though, both are around $25-35 a month depending on how many months users want to make payments. So it's all up to you. Decide if the extra features are worth the slight increase in price, or wait and get the Note 7 once the recall is behind them.

Choose what is best for you, and enjoy. You can't go wrong with either of these smartphones. I'll continue to use my Galaxy S7 Edge until Samsung and AT&T can replace my Note 7, then I'll be switching to the big phablet.

Galaxy Note 7 is going to be the best smartphone for the following year, at least this that is my opinion. For now I look at this Ringke fusion case and I really love it. https://www.spotga.com/2016/07/samsung-galaxy-note-7-cases.html

I have a Galaxy s7edge but wonder if the note 7 have the always on function and the double click of the home key for the camera. I really love those features. I had a note 3 and loved the larger screen. So I am torn between the two.

The Note 7 does have the always on function. Not sure about the home key for the camera though. I will try it.

Angel, I’m in the same position as you. I have the Note 7 as well and the recall is breaking my heart. I have not owned anything but one Note model or another since the first Note was released. It’s my perfect dream phone. Thet had rereleased the Note early this month and I just hadn’t had time to exchange it, then this past week I learned that Samsung was pulling the new ones as well and just not selling the Note 7…no intent to release again. I love the Spen technology, and the fact that storage is DOUBLE that of the S7 Edge. Just devastated
