With the Galaxy S10+ release date confirmed for March 8th, buyers have a tough choice to make. This is our Galaxy S10+ vs Galaxy Note 9 comparison and why you should or shouldn’t wait for it.
The Galaxy Note 9 is still a great phone anyone would absolutely love. Plus, it has a few features you won’t get with the Galaxy S10 that could help make the decision easy for select buyers.
The reason it’s such a tough choice is that this year Samsung’s Galaxy S10+ has the same screen size as the Note 9 — a 6.4-inch Quad HD curved OLED display. In previous years the Note was the biggest they had to offer, but that’s no longer the case.
Samsung’s big Galaxy Note 9 is only about six months old and it delivers a huge screen, small bezels, powerful cameras, and a stylus. And while it’s great, it’s almost identical to the S9 or even the Note 8 from 2017. This year, the Galaxy 10 and S10+ is very, very different. We’re talking about fingerprint scanners in the screen, better battery life, triple cameras and more.
So, whether you have the Note 9 and are thinking about upgrading, still have an old Note 5, or even a Galaxy S8+, here’s everything you need to know about these two phones.

This year Samsung released four different Galaxy S10 phones, instead of just two. And oddly enough, the Galaxy S10+ is the SAME size as the Galaxy Note 9 from 2018.
The S10+ has a punch-hole cutout in the screen to house the dual front-facing cameras (but no notch, like an iPhone). You can also get a 5.8-inch Galaxy S10e, a 6.1-inch Galaxy S10, and a massive 6.7-inch Galaxy S10 5G later this summer. The one you're likely interested in is the Galaxy S10+ with that 6.4-inch screen. Samsung put the camera and fingerprint scanner INSIDE the screen, removed nearly all the bezels, and put the speaker grill at the very top. As a result, the Galaxy S10+ is physically smaller than the Note 9, even with the same size screen. That means it'll be easier to hold and use. It's the same size as the S9+, actually. The bigger screen, in-display fingerprint scanner, and punch-hole cutout for the cameras are the biggest changes to the screen in the Galaxy S10 Plus.
