Madden 18 vs Madden 17: 11 Exciting New Madden 18 Features
Madden 18 MUT Squads | ||||||||||||
MUT Squads are a new 3 vs 3 online Madden 18 mode that allows you to take on a team of players with your friends or with the help of other online players. Instead of relying on the computer for everything, you can count on two other humans. It looks like a great way to bring your friends into the fold even if you are the big Madden Ultimate Team player. There are three roles in MUT Squads, a head coach, an offensive captain, and a defensive captain. No matter what role you choose you get to control a player on the field. Here's how each role breaks down according to developer Jake Stein on Operation Sports. You will bring in parts of each player's MUT teams to form one super team. Offense Captain: - Brings in all players from Offense and Special Teams for that user’s MUT Lineup - Brings in the offensive playbook and calls every play on Offense - When on Offense, you control the QB at the start of every play - However they are not player-locked to the QB post-snap. If you call a run play and neither of the other two human-controlled players are on the HB, the player controlling the QB will immediately switch and become the ball carrier - Controls all audibles and adjustments on Offense - When on Defense, the user can control any of the 11 players on the field not controlled by another user - There is no locking into only linebackers, defensive line, or secondary Defense Captain: - Brings in all players from Defense for that user’s MUT Lineup - Brings in the defensive playbook and calls every play on Defense - When on Defense, the user can control any of the 11 players on the field not controlled by another user - There is no locking into only linebackers, defensive line, or secondary - Controls all audibles and adjustments on Defense - When on Offense, the user can control anyone besides the QB at the start of any given play Head Coach: - Brings in the Head Coach, Stadium, and Uniforms for that user’s MUT Lineup - Calls timeouts and determines the results of penalties for the Squad - When on Offense, the user can control anyone besides the QB at the start of any given play - When on Defense, the user can control any of the 11 players on the field not controlled by another user - There is no locking into only linebackers, defensive line, or secondary The head coach role is designed to help you more easily bring in a friend who doesn't play Madden Ultimate Team often, as it only adds a few parts of the team and less important parts at that. The MUT Squads games will start with a 3 vs 3 setup. If a player drops out or leaves the game continues without them. That role is picked up by another player on the team. You can play MUT Squads at EA Play on June 10th in Hollywood and you can expect to learn more during a Reddit AMA on June 2nd at 4 PM Eastern. | ||||||||||||

Looks like I’m first. Another yet of promises and another year of exploits.
We already see the exploit and unrealistic passing they have already which to a degree lets you target the WR. I can see this making for some messy games because there is no INTELLIGENCE behind the feature. Just because you target someone doesn’t mean they will be READY for the pass. This game does NOT respect route running and timing.
Day ONE… no matter the video or what gamers who tell us differently with their canned disclaimers… I will show the SAME ISSUES continue to exist in this game and features is nothing more than a marketing tool rather than a true feature.
I’m posting videos from M17 now and will look for them to continue to exist in M18 and I will post them IMMEDIATELY this time around.
The videos will consist of Gameplay (the most important: Fake AI, Fake Physics, Predetermined tackles, etc… ), Playbook (creation, editing, settings, flow), Practice Mode, Commentary… yes commentary is not just about updating a players last week stats and status for this week to play, Game UI while playing (lots and lots and lots of bugs).
Having improved graphics and poor game play doesn’t make for much of an improvement.
