OnePlus 7 Pro vs Pixel 4 XL: Camera(s)

Here's where things are starting to get interesting. OnePlus always makes phones that are far cheaper than the competition, but they lack in a few areas. The screens aren't as nice and the camera can't quite compete with Samsung or Google.

The OnePlus 7 Pro breaks out of that mold with a groundbreaking new 90Hz refresh rate 6.67-inch curved AMOLED display and THREE cameras on the back. Including one that has a crazy 48MP. And while we're almost certain Google will still have a better camera, here's what each phone packs inside.

  • OnePlus 7 Pro: Triple 48MP f/1.6 OIS + 8MP f/2.2 telephoto zoom with OIS + 16MP Ultra-wide angle PDAF sensor
  • 16 Megapixel f/2.0 front-facing selfie camera
  • Pixel 4 XL: 12.2 UltraPixel Rear Camera 1.4um and f/1.7 aperture sensor. And one f/2.4 telephoto zoom lens. Third Spectral sensor and other sensors for AI photography.
  • 8MP front camera

Google managed to stay ahead of both Samsung and Apple with just a single rear camera, and even Samsung's triple camera Galaxy S10+ can't beat the older Pixel 3 XL in the camera department. That's mainly because of Google's software prowess during the processing of images.

And now that Google has two sensors we're expecting even better things. Not to mention a new live HDR+ mode, astrophotography controls and tons of other improvements to the camera. So while the OnePlus 7 Pro has three lenses and can get more "looks" the Pixel 4 will be the better cameraphone.
