Safari is smarter in OS X El Capitan with easier access to muting annoying audio while browsing, new pinned tabs and AirPlay enhancements. In Safari you can pin tabs to the browser so your favorite websites and services are always handy and take up less space in the tab area. Even when you close the browser and re-open it they will come back. When you pin a tab it also stays up to date. Another new feature allows you to quickly mute the audio in a tab, without hunting the tab down. On OS X Yosemite you must look for the tab and then click pause or mute on the video. In OS X 10.11 this control is in the menu bar. Apple also makes it easier to share a web video by letting users AirPlay just the video instead their whole screen. We'll also see Force Touch capabilities on more websites as OS X 10.11 allows developers to deliver new Force Touch Interactivity inside Safari. | |||||||||||||

Josh, great review and I liked how you cautioned us to wait a little before upgrading. On slide 7/10 there is a transposition of 2 letters in”Appel”.

Hi, thanks for your article, very informative.
I installed El Capitan yesterday but found out that the Mac Book mid 2009 won’t support three finger gestures, nor the two finger swipe gestures introduced in mail. :-(
Haven’t found that mentioned anywhere.

“Great, just an other update” was my first thought. But considering this one hasn’t made my system run any slower (on the contrary, it feels faster), I truly feel “updated.”

Why did I ever purchase Macbook Air I upgraded to Al Capitan and had email problems ever since. How can I manage my inbox mail when Apple delete it before I have time to action it.

The download will pop up automatically in App store. There is a simple “upgrade” button….and that´s that! Totally free……..Remember the last free upgrades from Microsoft? lol….me neither…..
