The iPod touch 6th generation release is something that some shoppers are giving up hope for, but after two years it's certainly been too long for a new iPod touch. Apple announced the current iPod touch at the same time as the no longer on sale iPhone 5. It is now two years later and shoppers who don't need a smartphone are looking forward to an iPod touch 6th generation release that always seems on the cusp of arriving. Apple cut the price on the older iPod touch in August, something that normally happens when a new product is on the way, and there were good reasons to expect an iPod touch 6th gen with the iPhone 6, but we're still waiting. It's still a good idea to hold off on buying the iPod touch, but there's no concrete evidence that Apple is ready to offer the iPod touch 6th generation this month, even though it's been too long.

It’s been way too long! I can’t afford an iPhone, and frankly don’t want one. An iPod Touch satisfies me as a mock iPhone. I have a 4th generation and really want to upgrade!! I hope they announce one on Thursday, or my spirit will be crushed

I too have waited patiently for a large ipod touch for many years but have had to cope with the small screen …..It is now time for Apple to launch a proper Ipod Plus or to introduce a BABY IPAD….or a POCKET IPAD…
It really has been way too long and I really do not want to be teased any more please.

Many other sites seem to be downplaying the likelihood of a 6G iPod Touch being introduced this month. I hope they’re wrong; we’ll soon find out.

I bet they will show off the new iPad but for sure they are going to showcase the new Apple tv. Probably new design with new features. Hoping it has hey Siri built in would be cool if it had a kinect like camera control built in as well.

I am really really really waiting very very very long long long long long for an iPod touch 6th generation. I have had my iPod touch 5th generation for two whole years I simply just can’t wait any longer, I would say it hasn’t been way too long; IT HAS BEEEEN WAAAYYYY WAYYYYY WAAAAAYYY TOOOOOOOO LONG!
COME ON APPLE!!! YOU ARE LETTING YPUR COMPANY DOWN!!!
