At the end of January LG confirmed the company will be hosting a big event at Mobile World Congress, the annual mobile event each year in Spain. That takes place at the end of February and beginning of March.
That event is almost certainly where they'll announce the all-new LG G8. Along with the announcement, LG hints at some neat new technology that could be inside the phone. While our last slide mentioned 3D cameras, we speculated on what those could be for -- and now we might know. It looks like the LG G8 will use some new technology, like those 3D cameras, for some interesting hands-free gesture controls. The video above hints at being able to control the LG G8 without ever touching it. Now we've seen gesture and "air" controls in the past, but maybe those 3D cameras enable something truly amazing. Who knows, but it's one more reason you might want to wait for the G8 before jumping into something else right away.
