Samsung Galaxy Android Q Update: 7 Things to Expect & 3 Not To
Don't Expect Every Android Q Update in 2019
The Android Q release date is set for Q3, but that doesn't mean Samsung will get its version of Android Q out in August or September. We'd be surprised if it did. Samsung is typically one of the slowest Android OEMs in terms of update speed. The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9 got Android Pie months after devices from Sony, Xiaomi, HMD Global, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus and Essential. Samsung won't take part in the early Android Q beta program so we're probably looking at another delayed release because it will want to widely test the update before it releases it to the public. We expect Samsung to get some Android Q updates out in 2019. Remember, the Galaxy S9 Pie update started pushing out in December of 2018. That said, we don't expect every Android Q update to arrive this year. Samsung's roll outs take months to complete and the company's Android Pie roadmap puts some updates in October, 2019. The company will probably still be pushing out Android Pie updates when Android Q arrives.

I have 3 devices with Beta 3. Pixel (Gen 1), Essential, and OnePlus 6T. The 6T has tons of problems that the other 2 devices do not exhibit. Fingerprint reader issues, app crashes and problems displaying imported text messages.
