Schedule the Update If You Need To

If you don't have all day to check for new software, you can schedule to install software updates at a particular time.

To set a schedule for your Galaxy S8's software updates, turn on your device Settings and tap on Software update.

From there, you can use the scheduling option to set a time for the Android Pie update (once it's available), and other updates, to install on your Galaxy S8.

If you don't want to deal with it during the day you can set the install to a time when you're normally asleep. When you wake up, your device will be running Android Pie.
